"Suddenly"
(BeatinPath)
Lyrics
Packed the car, and the guitar, had to leave
the dog on Dorgenois
At St. Claude, the tears start falling, I tell her it's gonna be
alright.
Everything, everything changes for you and me.
Will we ever get back, the cards are stacked,
and the dealing bitch is
running the table dry.
At a truck stop in Alabama, you look at what the TV camera finds, but
you already know.
Even though you know, it's not always real, til you see it
CHORUS
Suddenly, everything we don't know where we're going
Suddenly, we don't know what's in store for you and me and
Suddenly, everything we know turns into nothing
50 states, now 49, if where you are is your
state of mind, it's
something.
Finding friends in the strangest places, you're missing things and you
can't replace 'em, it's nothing.
beaten, but un-broken, well known, but un-spoken...
CHORUS
Suddenly, everything we don't know where we're going
Suddenly, we don't know what's in store for you and me and
Suddenly, everything we know turns into nothing
Tennessee's not so bad, they like the band
and they say they
understand, but I don't.
It's a shiny place, but I don't care, it's time to come clean,
I now know what it means.
CHORUS
Suddenly, everything we don't know where we're going
Suddenly, we don't know what's in store for you and me and
Suddenly, everything we know turns into nothing

Story
The song was written as one person's adversity, but it's taken from bits and pieces of each member of our band's misfortune. Our experience through this tragedy is representative of the city's hardship. Some lost everything, some lost little.
Some are back home, some waiting, some never going back. The loss is relative and has had a deep, profound effect on each of us. We are forever changed.
